Building my own ocean

I've started building my own ocean.

Been sleeping under hand stitched houses for a while now and always wishing it were just a little bit bigger all the way around.  This one will be lots bigger and it will have beach houses.

The studio help was just helping too much this morning so I've taken the whole business outside for now.

the fabrics are all various cottons- rescued from blandness with Procion MX dyes.

You've just given me a whole new concept of quilt. I'm in a class so we're cutting up squares and triangles which I hate doing. But hey, I have rags to dye and I don't have to keep thinking jackets--obviously, but you just made the concept that much clearer, thanks! Loved your trusting cat in the water!

I'm so relieved to see other studio helpers out there, putting their precious little hairs onto work in progress ;-)) Thanks for sharing - and I can't wait to see what this quilt is going to look like!
