possessed

Has anyone figured out a good way of getting non-linear shapes out of woven fabric so that all the edges can fray like this?  I'm looking to take a big, organic looking bite out of this cloth and don't have enough to waste. Razor wheels I guess?

If I'm not messing around with fabric at least I am thinking about different ways to mess around with it. possessed.

woooo, this colour combo just pops!!! I'm grooving on turquoise these days as the pizzazz colour for all else.

Not quite sure what you mean, but what if you cut the angle, then teased out the threads with a big needle scraping it?

Gee, I can get edges like that in my laundry! But to hurry it along, try cutting with a really dull pair of scissors and pulling against the bias as you go, then do the teasing edges, maybe then the laundry thing. And yes, the colors here are amazing- hope they reappear together somewhere!

I've had luck in the past with sort of outlining the desired shape with straight bleach. Let it eat through the fabric and then just tear it apart with your hands. It seems to weaken the surrounding fibers so they fray, even on the bias.
