the weekend

Two new rounds of Dirty Threads were hatched out despite the weather, but it's gonna be a while before I do this again. You can grab some up here:

Everything step took twice as long as usual. Tedium is not a good creative partner.  Come some real summer weather and I'll think about doing it all again. Maybe.

I had some sleepover company Sunday night! We watched junk TV, made art, ate junk food and generally got up to no good, but a good time was had by all.

Love the painting project with your best bud ... and wish for you a re-finding of the same-such joy when next you dye. It should be fun, not drudgery for sure. Indeed, I found myself trying out a technique recently not only to see how it looked on cloth, but to discover whether or not I would enjoy the process worked over a much larger area.

P.S. I neglected to add this: when working long stretches of patchwork seams with stitches intended to peek through (a technique learned from Jude Hill) I love using your Dirty Threads, which pop up like tiny jewels, each stitch different from the one before.

Truly you are a magic maker ...

where did the little boy go? This person is so grown.....

and i look at these latest threads and think how some people just
collect things, like shells, uh, first edition books....and i
thought suddenly that i want to just Collect dirty threads!

i (so far) use your most vague, organic colors, because i sew
vague and organic things,

but what if i just COLLECT these bright and vibrant and ALIVE
ones?????? Just for the JOY of it??????

so..every batch you make....i would like to have a standing order
for my collection. Really.
Big Juicy Love.....
