kitchen busywork

It's been gray, humid and depressing for days and I'm sick of it so had a little kitchen table dyefest to get on with making up skeins of embroidery floss to sell.

Now, my problem is what the heck to charge?  These are each 10 (not 8) yards of hand dyed, DMC 6-strand cotton floss.  No two of these are alike so if you are project oriented, I can't help you.

Clues anyone?

What a lovely colourful day you made out of your dreary one ;-)

As with all hand work projects: the materials cost + your time (to wrap, dye and then wash, dry and wrap again) and then any profit you hope to have. I personally love stitching with a thread that has surprises for me as I go--not knowing what color or pattern will appear.

Start there and then modify as the market lets you know what it thinks. One of a kind is always more special.

What a wonderful image - I love it! I'm also curious about the white dots - is it salt?

Pricing? Aways difficult. I suppose you ould go to an awesome, high-end thread shop and see what their most besutiful, hand-dyed threads cost. Then double it! :-)
