Quilt National, not.

Now that I am fairly certain that my three entries to QN11 have been rejected  I can show them- not that they are any mystery to regular readers.  The rejection email was so convoluted and ingratiating it was hard to tell that what they were really saying was "sorry. see ya next time." I mean, really, are people so afraid of wounding one another? If anyone can take a flat out rejection it's an experienced artist.
I had my doubts about the chances of these pieces getting in but they represent my current work and there's never any telling what the judges are looking for.
Oh well.... Next!

Well, like I said to Lorie@ Art+Craft,
what do THEY know! I love these three pieces. Oozing with originallity and effervescence as always! Oh well... THEIR loss! :)

These are all lovely, but I'm especially favoring the middle one. Sorry to hear you didn't make it into QN.

Love that last one especially! These are lovely. Quilt National is such a craps shoot! The Holy Grail, but one can't ever feel too badly about not making it. I think those who do make it in are more surprised than those who don't. I haven't even tried for years, so good on you for putting it out there! Definitely worthy contenders.

I glad to hear that I'm not alone, I had the same reaction to the QN rejection letter, very confusing! I'm with you: next show!

These are wonderful pieces. Fantastic and playful. You are right to send in your most current work. Then it's authentic. I also think its good to enter - every jury is different amd every day is different. Quilt National has been a goal of mine for a long time.

I think your pieces are very original and organic works...I love them, especially that last one.

Maybe you are just a little ahead of your time?

I love these! But I wonder if they would do better in non-quilt events? I think of them as art first, quilted second... just my view!

Great pieces. You should be proud for having three such wonderful pieces and entering them. I didn't even get around to entering.

My favorite--today at least--is the first one.

Hopefully I will see them at some show soon.

I am so glad I found your post. I too was rejected and was totally confused by the email letter I received. I had to write back and ask what it meant. Thanks!

I think these are gorgeous, especially the third one. Congrats on your team making the playoffs, and I am seriously tempted to enter your giveaway except I already have way too much fabric. (And for a certified thread head to say that, you know that I really, REALLY have too much fabric.)

Hey Deb,
I too received that strange reject email..I do like Arlee's idea of a 'Salon de Reject", it worked for Monet! Not sure I'll reapply to QN, we'll see in a few years. These are lovely. I'd love to see more!
