details

Two cast away garments, a blouse and a vest, both linen, have been reborn.

Gifts that will keep on giving.

Alas, linen has to be ironed.

Ironed? Why??? I love the texture of air-dried linen.

Okay, I also love crisply ironed linen.

Win-win

I rarely iron my linen. If it's something with parts that absolutely need to be straight (like a front band), I try to smooth them out right when I take them out of the dry -- or hang them to dry in the first place. I have a linen tunic that's over 12 years old -- still strong, but really soft and one of my favorite things to wear.

I agree-- I used to iron linen but then it got all wrinkled. so now--out of the dryer and onto a hanger. I have also dried things on a hanger, pulling them a bit if I want things "straighter". Linen lasts forever. Feels warm in winter and cool in summer. It's all I wear these days.

Older linen is better than new linen. some "new" stuff--well it's so thin and see through--I return it practically the moment it arrives.
