wash day was never like this

This beats using a dryer any day but I'm real glad that I didn't throw out my old ironing board. You know, the kind you can adjust for ironing while sitting. My grandmother is spinning in her grave. The rusty business in the middle here is one of my favorites. The spotty looking things are in a preliminary state. Painting comes next. Some of these things look like skins taken from non-terrestrial beings. My "Custom Blood" recipe worked out quite nicely. I usually don't dally much with reds unless they are close to neutral. From the sublime to the ridiculous. All delicious.

with results like that wash day would come often in my house! :-) They all look wonderful, though the curves in the rust one really draw my in -- make me think of an old scythe in Death's hand...

Okay ... I couldn't resist commenting on this one. My mom always (always!) had her ironing board set to sitting height. She ironed everything (sheets, pillowcases, my dad's work shirts ... steam, no starch) while watching the soaps. At the end, I was "allowed" to iron my dad's handkerchiefs and the linen napkins for Sunday dinner (no starch, no soaps ... deemed inappropriate fare for kids). Thanks for the memory trigger.
