Mourning

They mourn. Especially Bailey.  I'm glad and sad to be away for a while.

I waited to comment, holding out hope that she would return. We too know what it feels like to miss a family member. When our daughter Shelley left for college, the day we were packing the car with her stuff, her cat, named Frisky, raced out of the garage and down the street. We ran after her but could not catch up with her. We were shocked that she lived up to her name cause she was an indoor cat, loved hanging out in Shelley's room. Shelley wanted to put off going but we told her we would search. For about two weeks, we kept the garage door open at night, taking turns sitting in the dark in the garage, food and Frisky's favorite toy, a cloth doll with yarn hair, near the entrance. She never returned. We had put up flyers but no one ever saw her. 36 years later we still mourn her leaving.

How awful for your daughter. And how strangely symbolic Frisky's departure that day, that way. Cats are mostly mysteries.
