And of course, in the dark, just when sleep snuggles up, so did the story. Enough to make me snort/laugh, then grope up pen and paper and touch on the light.

A small thing. A soul ajustment.

Libra (updated)
Yesterday was a long, gray slog complete with thunder. I cleaned out the small stitch bag with half an eye for something to work on.

Patterns soothe
I'm also trying to be a little more discriminating with what sort of input I use.
My sister Patty ai'ed herself. She's not a blond...yet. Do it, Pat. But don't do anything that will get your mugshot put up in the post office.

A remedy and reminder
Sophie brought me this scrap from under my bed. I was too shocked to grab a picture of her with it in her mouth because I thought she was bleeding. It's back in the river basket waiting for a turn to speak.

these days
I was holding my breath until they reached home. Ever since their walk began, I have been worried that someone would decide that these brown, foreign men didn't deserve to breathe free air. I put nothing past the maggots and am pondering the fear some of them felt at the notion of doing something so heinous. Now, I breathe.
Well, hello, Depression. I see your buddy Writer's Block sucking along behind you. Where's that other bastard, Sleeplessness and his asshole buddy Body Aches? Fuckers kept me up all night. Again.
I am not good company these days.
I live 27 miles from Social Circle, GA where DHS bought a warehouse destined to house 10,000 captives. I'm calling it Auschwitz South. Three quarters of the locals are maggots. It's very hard not to sit back and say, "This is what you voted for," meanwhile, a local restaurant critique group discusses the sudden closures of a handful of Mexican restaurants.
When I asked what the group thought the common denominator might be for all these popular eateries going out of business, a bloviator replied, "They never advertise specials or offer coupons."
Get my fucking axe.
Ninety miles west of me, the national embarrassment is going to be in Rome, Georgia today. He doesn't deserve the mid 70's we're supposed to have later. I want to drive by, stick my ass out the window and take a wet shit in his direction.
I picture the Knight of Wands on that Fire Horse with a combat flamethrower, but, as he has become a liability to the maggots, I fully expect him to be martyred spectacularly any day now. The things that live in my head...
If you haven't yet, please don't look into the epstein files. Just don't.

Reaching
I woke in the dark, 3:30 give or take, and asked Salem, "Is he dead yet?" She kicked me gently, annoyed. Then gave me a yawn complete with cat breath. So I turned away and consulted the Oracle Lectronica.
The first image that floated into clarity was Stephen Colbert. Best medicine for the moment, right? A chuckle and snark before I fall back to sleep. Who's this geezer he's speaking with? He's vaguely familiar.
The Elder spoke and then led the camera down a step to the stage, the house lights dimmed to his spot and he addressed the audience with a soliloquy that was the essence of magic. I watched it several times then and more over coffee this morning.
Just now, I was packing up a few more orders for bags of scraps, bits of cloth kept jumping out at me, shouting, "Me. Me. Pick me. Keep me. Make some magic. I dare you."
We must. White magic, Dark. Whatever it takes.

Home again
Wallowing with St. Lynch.
Two years ago I started some black hollyhocks from seed. I watched this stubborn little bugger go under 5 inches of snow. I need to bring her some compost.
School was closed again on Monday. We listened to another chapter of the Oddessy.
Math wise, I have been left in the dust. He’s doing algebra.
I saw the insides of my heart today- in 3D, color and sound. Something in my EKG annoyed the PA so she set me up with a cardiac sonogram.
Sounds like a band - The Cardiac Sonograms
My heart has annoyed doctors since I was born. My mother told me I had a heart murmur. "And?" you say. And it was never diagnosed. But there's a history of hinky EKGs, so I'll know more next week.
The blood racing through the chambers of my heart looked like rainbow lightning!
Is she looking?
How is this going to make her break out the cat cookies?
Don't move. She's opening the cupboard door...
