Grateful...

...to have been on the ground floor of a new obsession. I can't teach him anything but the basics. Thank goodness Jake is a patient teacher, the interaction wonderful to watch.

There were a lot of questions for Google because I never really played, just had an idea of how it was supposed to go. Play makes me tense and sweaty and I've lost five of six games most often because I forgot the Tiger lurks.

Rules, history, tradition. Culture. It's like visiting another planet.

I can still beat my son (52) and my dil (49) in Scrabble. I gifted them the old set I carried from move to move and carried around on camping trips in the Rockies. The box is taped together. My father taught me Chess, but I get fidgety and lose focus. I think more children should learn strategy games. And not on a computer.

Deb~ I have never really learned to play, too impatient with the game...but value the skills playing this one gives. Great light in the Charlie pic!
