Serenity

I finally got to see this tonight. Now I know why people were mildly freaked when I took that silly quiz to determine which character in the movie you were and I came up Summer. Thanks for not spoiling it for me. Nothing like having your heart wrenched around for an hour and change. All and all, I liked it but saddened that any sequel or TV show will bear the violence and changes wrought in this movie.

I was actually angry about one particular big change (don't wanna spoil it for those who haven't seen it) when I came out of the theater. I've since calmed down and I know I shouldn't be surprised because JW is known for doing that sort of thing, but still...damn.

I loved the movie though, once I calmed down. ;-)

Spoiler warning (if you care):

I was really upset that we did not learn Shepard Book's history; but I've decided he was an Operative and ran into a similar situation. He became invisible and needed redemption.

The other loss was just sad...

Actually, I thought the other loss was just STUPID. The first fit into the story line, and I agree with your inferences about his past, but the other TOO?!?!?!?!? What the heck was with that!?!?!?!

I don't ever remember leaving an action flick sobbing before...

And, yes, River IS scary, but in a real ingenue sort of way, eh?
