I scored a huge Mountmellick tablecloth years ago with thoughts of hitting it with the rainbow but I could never quite bring myself to violate it's purity. Until just the other day, I never even noticed a tiny worn spot that probably got it demoted to a "cutter" on Ebay. Here's a better look.
I wanted some white and decided to take another bite out of the corner. You'll be seeing a lot of this cloth in my work in the future and I'm sure some color will come into play eventually, for now it will have to pass for winter snow. So far I think we've had six flakes...not that I'm complaining but I still miss a New England winter even after all these years.

A small warning, when you drive, do not do anything but DRIVE - you've got way too much competiton out there on the road with cellphones, text messaging, people with their heads up their butt - we need you making your beautiful ART! Stay safe on the road!

This is one very cool piece! Don't work on it at stoplights though- go home and work there instead so you won't get rear-ended. Not that we care about YOU- we want to see what's happening with this piece! LOL

Your whitework is so cool! I have a quick question - are the long stitches on the blossoms or hanging pods bullion stitches? or whitework which I haven't learned yet?

There is a stitch called Montmellick but I dont' see it here on this piece and have no idea about the others. Me, I sews me fingers togedder mos days.

It's beautiful and although you didn't *make* the stitches on the white cloth, the important thing is that you obviously know how to make use of them afterthefact :} This is reall lovely work. And... I bet you *could* stitch like that, if you really wanted to!

Breathtaking! What a piece. It really makes me want to transform a tablecloth, but it would never in a million years come close to this amazing piece you are working on.
They just banned talking on cellphones while driving here in BC. So far there hasn't been any worry about stitching and driving at the same time! I do take my knitting walking with me sometimes.
