I pulled over to talk on the phone and they rushed to the fence to get between me and their cows.
At Jake's there was a kinder welcome.Charlie and I made an apple pie from (almost) scratch if you don’t count the pre-made crust that look like rolled up play doh.
I've never done a crust from scratch. Boxed mixes are the limit of my baking skills and the store was out.
So I peeled, cut and measured while he wrote and illustrated the steps in a sketchbook. I amended the measurements the next day. Too much sugar!
When his Mom got home, his grades were tallied up and a big milestone was met and rewarded.
By the time I return, it will probably be completed and I'll revisit my (apparently demonic) views on gluing projects permanently.

Really love the “watercolor”
Thanks. It's maddening that I can wring this from a cell phone snap after a little cropping and contrast adjustment. Watercolor is the one medium I've never seriously attempted.
watercolor is my favorite painting technique...my advice- less water- just get the brush wet and if you want more fluid water- add more...after.
Deb~ Sounds like a nice visit. You've reminded me of the "Tupperware Pie Crust" I used to make waaaay back in the day. It was so easy, even I could make it successfully. Put the ingredients in the specific bowl, put on lid & 'burp' it...and shake! haha It actually worked every time and was flaky and tasty. Love that first pic and the watercolor pic. Amazing what we can create with tech these days. I do want to play with watercolors. Soon. Take care.
