tattered garden

My mailbox garden is looking pretty ratty these days. These sunflowers and morning glories soared twelve feet but I won't take them down until everyone has eaten or carried off all that is useful to them.

And we stitch a bit.

Time enough to take it all down when the weather changes. I keep telling myself I need to do some garden preparation for our winds, which could come at any time...

The goldfinch will make take care of the sunflower quickly. I hear you. Everything looks tired here, too. Have a happy!

just as it is here. tattered but
still standing. now the finches
come to finish off seeds of everything. it's brown amid the still green, crunchy amidst the
still succulent. a moment in the
year. soon to change.
i think of you all the time, love
