Cold comfort

In bed with a cold. Just examining things.

What sucks about working from home is, if you can't drag yourself to the chair and log in to the system, you should be in the hospital.

I'm not thatsick . It's only a cold, so come 3:30, I'll take another round of Alka Seltzer for colds and be in that cottony place for a few hours.

Right now, feeling the comfort of the familiar. Cloth, thread, and Meet Joe Black on TV.

My daughter has been coughing for a week or more now--shared that with her old parents.
But when I cough--guess what happens. Lots of laundry.

I would think answering the phone in that "cottony Headed way" would be wonderful.
Nothing they said could bother you. Another movie I have never seen.

Honest, nothing anyone says on the phone has bothered me for many years. My headset training began as a telephone operator so I've been fire hardened. Now, sit yourself down with an adult beverage, no distractions, and watch that movie! It's one of my all-time favorites. Much of the film was shot at the Aldrich Mansion in Newport, RI. Fabulous art on the walls in the interiors of this film. Then there's Death himself.

I hope you feel better soon and have sick days so you can give yourself time to recover.

Lots of sleep should carry you through. December arrived here with lots of rain.

I remember a book titled "Cold Comfort Farm" from long ago, but having just read a synopsis I don't think I ever actually read it. But I always appreciated the ironic notion of "cold comfort" ... and have used the phrase often over the years.

That said, I unironically wish you well soon ... and simply comfort-able.

(all the best, Deb)
